Availability
| Q: When will the product be available for purchase? |
| A: We're hoping to release some time this week (updated May 7, 2012) |
Compatibility
Q: Does Box-to-Mag work with stripper clips/magazine chargers? |
A: No, it does not. |
Q: Does this work with 6.8 SPC as well? |
A: Unfortunately, no. |
| Q: Will you make a version for the AK-47 or in 6.8 SPC? |
| A: Versions for AK and 6.8 SPC are both highly likely to be our next releases. Which one comes first is all up to your feedback. Please let us know in the box at the bottom fo the page. |
| Q: Does the loader work with Steyr AUG mags? |
| A: No, it does not. |
| Q: Does the loader work with Mini-14 mags? |
| A: Yes. We have tested a steel ProMag Mini-14 magazine with the stand version of the loader and they are compatible. We have tested a ProMag polymer Mini-14 magazines with the Poly Loader and it does work, but we are still working to ensure 100% guaranteed loadability of the Poly Loader with polymer Mini-14 mags. |
Q: How does it work with "loose" ammo? |
A: With loose ammo you would have to place each individual round into the loader, similar to how you would load a Camenga Easyloader. However, I do not recommend loading more than 10 rounds per each row, as this would make pressing ammunition into the magazine a bit more difficult. |
Q: You do know that 30 round mags are illegal in New Jersey right? The math for 15 round mags doesn't work out as smooth.
| A: With 15 round mags, you can tilt the loader upside down when removing your fully loaded magazine so the rounds stay in place on the loader. Then, once you hook up a new mag, flip the loader back upright and load the remaining rounds. |
Durability
| Q: Is that slotted plastic piece you push the rounds in with durable? |
| A: The loader will be made from a Polycarbonate, which is a fairly durable and very impactproof material. Just for comparison, PC is used in Oakleys and Revision glasses, which are capable of deflecting birdshot fired from a 12 gauge at fairly close range. Whatever would happen to the rest of your face in such a scenario, I can't say, but your eyes will be protected, which is a testament to PC's strength. The prototype product shown in the video uses an inferior stereolithography 3D Print plastic. I've pushed down on it nearly 200 times and it still hasn't broken on me. |
Q: What type of impact is being put onto the bullet? the video just makes it sound kinda rough... |
A: There isn't too much impact being placed on the rounds. The sounds you hear in the video are that of the cartridges hitting the interior walls of the magazine as they enter, just like you'd hear when manually loading rounds. |
